Airbnb and Booking.com
Reference for the Airbnb and Booking.com connection cards. For the setup steps, follow Connecting Airbnb and Booking.com; for how the sync works, see Airbnb and Booking.com.
Before you start
- Where: Settings → Integrations → Platform Integrations (
https://platform.vivin.app/settings/integrations). Add a card with Add → Airbnb or Booking.com → Add Integration. - Plan: every account can connect channel accounts, several of each. VIVIN manages the channel credentials; you never enter an Airbnb or Booking.com password here.
- Permissions: Account Settings → Module, Account Settings → Integrations and Utilities → Edit Connections to add cards, connect, add hotel IDs and import. Reading the channel status also needs Listings → Module. Super Admin and Admin have all of them by default.
Fields when you add a card
| Field | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Provider | Airbnb or Booking.com. | — |
| Display Name | Optional name on the card, useful with several accounts of a kind. | Empty |
Airbnb card
| Item | What it is |
|---|---|
| Connect Airbnb | Opens the Airbnb authorization page. Shown until access is approved. |
| Link icon (Reopen Airbnb authorization) | Opens the Airbnb page again while the connection is not finished. |
| Finish connection | Completes the link after you approve on Airbnb. Later leaves it for another time. |
| Connected, "Airbnb host …" | The card's state once linked, with your Airbnb host ID. |
| Import bookings | Shown once connected. See Import bookings. |
| Remove integration | Removes the card, after Remove account connection. |
Booking.com card
| Item | What it is |
|---|---|
| Connect channel / Add hotel ID | Opens Booking.com hotel IDs; the label changes once the card has IDs. |
| "Hotel IDs: … · Rooms: … · Allocated: …" | How many hotel IDs and rooms the card holds, and how many are linked to units. |
| Import bookings | Shown once a hotel ID is linked to a unit. |
| Remove integration | Removes the card, after Remove account connection. |
In Booking.com hotel IDs:
| Field / action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Hotel IDs | Paste IDs one per line or separated by commas; Add checks each one with Booking.com. |
| ID list | Each ID shows "Allocated to …" a unit, or "Not allocated yet" until you pick it in Channel Manager. |
| Remove hotel ID | Removes an ID that is not linked to a unit. |
Each Booking.com property (hotel ID) is normally one unit in VIVIN. The property must have "Channex", VIVIN's connectivity provider, as its connectivity provider in the Booking.com extranet before its ID can be added.
Import bookings
Asks the channel for the bookings it holds for your linked units and creates the current and upcoming ones VIVIN does not have yet. Confirm with Import.
- Only units linked in Sales → Channel Manager are imported; past stays are skipped.
- It keeps running for up to 10 minutes and bookings appear as they arrive. You do not need to click again.
- A booking whose dates clash with one already on the unit, for example one added by hand, is skipped and you get a notification.
- Booking.com sends imported bookings without the guest's email, phone and address, and without the commission.
What happens when you save
- Finishing an Airbnb connection, or adding a hotel ID, makes the account available in Sales → Channel Manager for the platforms you have added under Booking platforms.
- Removing a card cannot be undone, and units linked through it may stop syncing.
Troubleshooting
- "Could not connect the Airbnb account.": click the link icon (Reopen Airbnb authorization), approve again on Airbnb, then Finish connection.
- "No hotel ID could be added — see the details below.": the details name each refused ID. Check the property's connectivity provider in the extranet.
- "Allocated to … — remove the allocation in Sales → Channel manager first": unlink the unit, then remove the hotel ID.
- A clashing booking was skipped by the import: remove the other booking and import again.
